Watching Antigravity and Devin Desktop

Google’s Antigravity line and Cognition’s Devin Desktop are the two products I’m watching this summer because the industry reshuffle behind them is still sorting out.

The short history, without editorial: Windsurf’s CEO and founders moved toward Google and the Antigravity direction. The remaining product and team headed toward Cognition and Devin Desktop. I’m not here to pronounce anything dead or dunk on anyone. Products change hands. Names change. I’m waiting to see what actually ships and sticks.

I tried both against my normal setup: Cursor Pro, Claude Code, and Codex. That’s still the stack I reach for on real work. Antigravity I used mainly for the included usage tier, worth kicking the tires on, especially because I already like Gemini for design thinking. The UI and model combo felt competent in that lane. Devin Desktop I haven’t lived inside daily, but I hear good things from engineers who treat it as a serious coworker, not a demo toy.

Neither is a daily driver for me yet. It’s a snapshot in August 2026 while two companies are still defining what these products mean. I’ll keep watching. If one of them earns a permanent slot next to Cursor Pro, Claude Code, and Codex, it’ll be because the workflow actually beat what I already have.
